Our Annual Anniversary Trip to Cancun Mexico!
This past week Brian and I spent our Anniversary in the beautiful and sunny Cancun. We stayed at the Barcelo resorts. Our first day we spent at the beach and in the beautiful pools, unfortunately for me I got burnt. I spent the whole week in an enormous amount of pain, and yes I did wear sunscreen.
Our second day we took an all day tour to Chichen Itza, the Mayan Ruins. It was incredible! The only problem was the heat, it was extremely hot and humid, so much so that I couldn't handle it, I spent most of the time there running from shaded area to shaded area. I just couldn't hack it, but Brian was able to learn and take video of the amazing ruins.
The next day we swam with the dolphins. It was awesome! We were able to do what they call a foot push, where the dolphins push your feet and you stand up the the water. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures but we did buy the dvd.
The next day we went to a place called Xel-Ha; it's an ecological water park. Basically there is a fresh water spring that opens up to the ocean. We started at the top by the fresh water spring and inner tubed down. We went cliff jumping and snorkeling with huge tuna. It was really crazy how you can see where the salt water meets the fresh because it looks like oil and water.
Where the fresh water starts you can inner tube down a little river...If you look carefully, you can see me in the air on the first one and then Brian in the second picture jumping. I love cliff jumping, I just wish the cliff was higher.
There is a ton of places to snorkel, here is me and my bright white body, I am actually very burnt and red on my shoulders.
They have some caves where you can swim in the fresh water springs that poke up from the ground.
There were a ton of iguanas everywhere we went even at our hotel.
There were also a ton of wildlife. Brian is here feeding some little animals that we found on one of our hikes.
These tuna were over 3 feet long! It was crazy!Giant Tuna video!
All good things must come to an end....
